A Piece of Something... II, 2025
A Landscape Animation Installation, Sound System
‘A Piece of Something...II’, 2025
This work reflects on waiting as an act of hope—something fragile yet enduring in the aftermath of hurricanes and storms. Inspired by landscapes where plants and trees are broken or felled, scenes I have witnessed in recent years after moving to a new place, the piece reimagines their transformation in dream into renewed beauty.
Echoing Shakespeare’s The Tempest, where a magical storm sets change in motion, the work reinterprets destruction as a space for resilience and possibility. The work grows out of flowers, trees, and plants I encounter while walking in Florida—sketched, reimagined, and brought back into motion.
Through this process, I seek to create a space where the beauty of nature, its fragility, and its deep harmony with human life can be experienced anew.
