Immersive Video Installation

'Sea In a Moment’, 2025

This video installation unfolds as a meditation on time, environment, technology, and the unstable narratives that shape our collective future. Inspired by watching the ocean at Belmer Beach, I wondered what might emerge if a single wave were stretched beyond recognition—if its motion dissolved into abstraction and its submerged colors rose to the surface. The installation becomes that speculative gesture: a field of shifting patterns and pigments, an unseen spectrum revealed.

By translating environmental rhythms into technological form, the work challenges the assumption that nature and technology exist in opposition. Instead, it proposes a porous relationship in which digital processes can illuminate the ecologies we overlook. Slowly evolving hues mimic the quiet persistence of environmental change—often imperceptible, yet constant and consequential. In this temporal drift, viewers are asked to reconsider their own position within accelerating climate, cultural, and technological transformations.

The piece rejects fixed identity—of landscape, of viewer, of time itself. It repositions the ocean not as a backdrop but as a collaborator, a temporal archive whose currents echo present tensions and future uncertainties. Through abstraction, the work imagines new modes of sensing and new futures in which perception, environment, and technology co-create alternate possibilities for belonging and survival.
